Van Vihar added 2 more members in its family of tigers today when 2 tigresses ‘Ganga’ and ‘Kamlesh’ were brought in from Indore Zoo. Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal is another very popular destination specially amongst kids, wildlife lover, bird lovers, and photographers. Van Vihar is basically a Zoological Park (Zoo) categorised and maintained as a National Park where a visitor can see most of animals and birds in their natural habitat. Flesh eating and aggressive animals like Tiger, Sloth Bear, Leopard, Hyena, and Crocodile are kept in enclosures while other harmless animals like Cheetal (Spotted Deer), Sambar Deer, Barasingha (Swamp Deer) and Langoors are allowed to roam freely. Van Vihar has two entry points, first one at the end of Lake View Road (Chikoo Dwar/Gate) and the other towards Bhadbhada Bridge / Prempura Ghat (Ramu Dwar/Gate).
