Islam Nagar, also known as Jagdishpura, is a historic fortified settlement 11 km north of Bhopal. It served as the original capital of the Bhopal Nawabs. The site contains ruins of fortifications, two palaces (Chaman Mahal and Rani Mahal), mosques, a hammam and gardens. An off-the-beaten-path heritage destination for history enthusiasts.
